Do you lose your pokemon in pokemon silver?
I heard that after you beat the elite 4 in pokemon silver you go to another continent, when you go to that continent do you lose the pokemon you had already trained on the first continent and start over?

No, you keep them, you wont be able to progress without them either because the trainers back on Kanto have high leveled Pokemon. You can catch new Pokemon (or old rather since they are Generation 1) on Kanto, but they are lower levels in most places and would have to be trained A LOT to get them to the levels you would need to face gyms.
No? They didn't in the old Silver that I play all the time. You do go to the old continent, Kanto, where Red and Blue took place, but you don't lose your pokemon.
No, you keep them. The gym leaders' pokemon are just tuned higher so you don't one-shot all of their pokemon.
