... the $300+ price tag of a petunia pickle bottom? I remember liking the free black diaper bag the hospital gave me just fine, lol. Plus, after a certain point around 4 months, if I couldn't stuff it into my purse I deemed it wasn't necessary to carry along. Does anyone really love carrying a purse, shopping bags or souvenirs, and a huge diaper bag too?

lol!! I am the same way, if I can't just put it in my purse then it isn't needed. Plus I always carry extras in the car and leave them there, like diapers and toys. I hate carrying around a diaper bag.
When my son was a baby, I used the freebie one from the hospital at first but soon switched to a slightly larger purse than I usually used. All I carried in it was a diaper and small wipes container (unless I was going to be somewhere for a long time). I also kept some extras in the car, just in case. I never had a problem and would never pay $300, or even $100 for a diaper bag.
On the other hand, my friend has constantly traveled with a fully stocked diaper bag for 6 years now. She has a 6, 3, and 8 month old.
Ummmm, no. But, I am the type of person that feels the need to spend a lot of money of designer stuff, etc. I couldn't imaging $300 on a diaper bag?? Do you know how many diapers I could buy with that to put in a cheap bag? LOL I always used the diaper bag as my purse, because I hated carrying so much stuff around.
To the poster a couple below me--I looked up the Pouchmiss and I must say I was pretty impressed. All my kids are older now, but that would have been something I would have used!! I don't think the price is outrageous and it could fit into several different purses--so it's versatile!!
No, when I was pregnant, I spent a lot of time picking out a great diaper bag--and I used it only a handful of times. I regret buying it to be honest.
I can carry everything I need in my purse. And my purse looks better than any diaper bag I have ever found. I am nursing, however, so I never need to lug around formula, water, bottles, etc. Really, the only thing I ever grab is a diaper and a small baggie of wipes--and I am set. Anything larger than that, I keep in the car for emergencies. (Like a change of clothes, etc.)
I could never justify a bag that expensive, but I'm a cheapo! Most of the time I don't carry a purse at all, I just put my wallet, phone and keys in my pocket and go. I will use a diaper bag though, just to be sure I have everything the baby needs with me, but it will not cost that much. After all, it's just a bag.
I use my diaper bag as my purse, I would hate to carry a second bag. But I have never spent $100 on a purse or diaper bag, let alone $300!!
We have like five bags and all together they didn't cost 300.00. We have diffrent sizes depending on where we are going. My wife has one that looks purse that i refuse to bring. We bring diapers cups, change of clothes, toys and even a book to keep her occupied She is almost two and we still have the diaper bag especially for all day trips like leaving at 9:00 am and not getting back until like 6:00. My wife does not caryy a purse she puts her walet and ohter things in the diaper bag
$300 for a diaper bag....that's stupid. I think the most I paid for one was $15 at Wal-mart and it does the job fine.
After so long I just kept a small handbag with my essentials in it and put it in my son's diaper bag. When I just needed my essentials, then I'd leave the diaper bag and take the hand bag.
$300 for a designer diaper bag is about as stupid as someone buying designer clothes for an infant. It's going to get dirty, spit up on, and wear out as fast as the cheaper bags. I have spent less total on diaper bags by getting the cheaper ones that buying one expensive one. Actually most of my cheap ones are still in good shape so I can use them for the next baby.
I put my purse in my diaper bag, and take it everywhere with me, but i would never pay 300 dollars for a diaper bag.
