A good financial adviser will not try to sell you insurance
or loaded mutual funds. A good financial adviser will
invest your money in your best interests.
It's not stupid at all. Some financial advisers only give advice on how to handle your monies. They would charge by the hour. Other advisers not only give advice but will actually do the investments for you. In either case their goals are to help you save money, invest for profit, minimize taxes, etc.
Definitely not. That ends up most of your money are going into the financial advisor's pocket and would leave you with nothing.
Consider making your own plan. Then commit to a balanced approach. It is difficult but with ETF and mutual funds it is doable.
