Last night i had a friend sleep over and I was just about to fall asleep when this thought popped into my mind... y do we sleep?? Its rele wierd how the whole thing works... our body kinda shuts down but everything still working. We lay there for hours without eating or going to the bathroom, and we are kinda lost in our own little world. And we do alot of strange stuff like sleep walk or sleep talk. We dream, and the whole thing just seems so real. And we meet people in our dreams that we have never seen before in our lives... Idk its a little strange to me. haha its kinda a wierd question but im only a teenager so still got lots to learn...

We sleep to rejuvenate our bodies and to harvest minerals, proteins etc. and our bodies distribute that. We sleep to regain our energy and to be rested enough to face the next day.
Also, sleep allows your body to grow. Without sleep you could not function properly.
WE DON’T FULLY understand the importance of sleep. What we do know is that sleep is an anabolic, or building, process. And we think it restores the body’s energy supplies that have been depleted through the day’s activities.
Sleep is also the time when the body does most of its repair work; muscle tissue is rebuilt and restored. We know, for example, that growth hormone is secreted during sleep. This hormone is important for growth in children, but is also important throughout adulthood in rebuilding tissues.
Your Brain Needs Sleep, so you can:

Your Body Needs Sleep, so your:
Muscles, bones, and skin can grow
Muscles, skin and other parts can fix injuries
Body can stay healthy and fight sickness
we need our sleep if we dont have sleep we would never make it through the day we would look loke zombies
if anyQ's im me
because our brain could use a break from time to time .. :)
