from the command prompt..
To shutdown:
"shutdown -s"
To restart
"shutdown -r -t 05"
Its your choice to use the "-t 05" switch or not. By default there will be a 30 second count down. the "-t" switch tells it to use a different number. So the "-t 05" will count down from 5 seconds instead.
Press The "Start" Button And Press Turn Off Computer. There Are Three Choices It Say "Shut Down" "Restart" "Stand By". Press Restart
Install PS Tools from Microsoft Technet

They're the best and must have for every administrator... It has PS shut down... Try ProcExp for GUI controls (replacement for windows task manager)...
Look for "reboot.com"
it's an old - very small... but effective piece of code which uses a software reset - to cause a hardware reboot.
I've not looked for it in years... but the last time... I found it pretty quickly.
Can't you just click where it says restart with your mouse? I've never heard of having to type it?
