I got these contacts in Mexico when I went down for a visit. They only gave me one pair of contacts, and a cleaner for them for when I'm not wearing them. They told me that they should last one or two years, and if I cleaned them every day after wearing them (or if I didn't wear them, I would still clean them) then they would last. But when I got home and told my dad, he told me that contacts only last a couple of weeks?

Eye doctors will tell you to change your contacts every few weeks. However, in my years of experience with contacts, I'm beginning to believe it's more of a ploy to get more of our money. If you take your contacts out at night when you are supposed to, they can last much longer than a few weeks. If you take good care of them and you don't see any tears on them, whythrow away perfectly good contacts? Of course if they start to irritate your eyes or you rip the edges, you may get scratches on your eyes, so it's best to opt for a new pair. Other than that, you should get quite a few months out of one pair :)
I am supposed to change mine every 2 weeks, so I don't know what magical contacts they gave you. Or they just lied.
