If it is close to being ripe I have used a microwave oven. You put it in for about 30 seconds at a time letting it rest a little before doing it again. You don't want it to cook, just get warm.Careful not to leave it in too long at a time. It can explode like a potato. I have done this to make guacamole.

For even quicker ripening, add an apple or a tomato to the bag.
Keep it in a brown or plastic bag for a day.or if your disparate put it in a food processor
I have done the microwave thing too. It was suggested by somebody on YA.
Put it in a paper bag, or put it in close proximity to bananas.
