I've tried to Google this and got myself more confused. On otherwise identical specs on a Toshiba Satellite laptop, which processor is better? I'm not a gamer. I will use the laptop for hours on end doing Word & Excel for work, then surfing, researching & Facebooking for fun. I've heard AMD is known for being cool (temp) and quiet, but Intel is faster...who can give me a better idea of what to go for? Thanks in advance!

Intel i3. The ADM and the intel score right around the same. Thought he quad core should allow you to do 4 things at once like music, pictures, word processing, and internet all at once with out difficulty where the i3 is only dual core. But intel is consistency better even though the phenom II scored higher.
Making he phenom only slightly faster.
hi Intel Platform has a weak spot that in case you utilize an subject-free motherboard as H55 or H57 chip it cants supplies u extra overall performance than amd's platform as 785 or 770 or 790gx chip. while u use a quad center as a replace of a million center with 4 threads as center i3, you have 4 genuine cores as a replace of a million center with 4 digital cores. submit to in innovations that amd's quad center phenoms have 785 thousands and thousands transistors. if u use amd phenom and ddr3 rams and ati photograph playing cards mixture your gadget is astonishing. because of the fact the end result decide on AMD.
Intel Core i3 370M Processor
Its just brand. Some people like one brand more than the other because of different issues they have. Some are more anoying than the next. Like bmws vs lexus. bmw has crazy electric issues but lexus recently had that brake problem. What will it be?? i go for intel.
You can check this website to compare your Intel and AMD:

but I suggest you go Intel not AMD, when ever I try to fix the hardware problem of AMD processor laptops I always have the issue of the parts not available.
