I was curious, as to whether there were any laws in place that require certain companies to do business at my house. I am a citizen of Alabama, and want a certain service. But apparently they do not come out to my house, since I live in a rural area. So, I looked it up, and in some laws and franchise agreements companies are required to run cable to a certain persons house if they wish to use the service.

It sounds like you are talking about the old "build out" law which required cable companies to wire their entire service territories.
Much of that has been done away with as states have deregulated cable business in order to promote "healthy competition."
Check your state, county & municipal laws for cable regulations in case that has not passed in your area or township.
There is no law, you have the option of satellite. Cable comes to within 1/2 mile of my house. We have to use satellite for tv and verizon for internet.
