Level wind reel problems.?
I just recently bought a level wind reel from a friend. The mechanism on the reel that feeds the line left to right, does not spin and stays in place. I can only move it if i do it manually by hand. I need to know how to fix this before my next fishing trip. Thanks.

There is a Pawl inside the trolly that goes back and forth. Get a parts diagram of your model and manufacturer and order one. It is the thing that goes into the screw looking bar, it fits into the BOTTOM of the trolley/traveler.
A common but easy repair. Simple easy peasy, I don't even need to see it.
First grease it and see if that works. Otherwise the worm gear is broken. You need to take apart the reel to access it.
