Did you ask an airline about bereavement fair? They might go for it since airfare from Vegas to PHX is pretty cheap in general. It will be about a 45 min plane flight. Try Southwest Air.

Since this was posted 6 hrs ago hopefully you're in PHX already,

It's an emergency . Get a nice white piece cardboard 11x15 or so

using a magic marker make a sign that says PHOENIX

Stand on the entrance ramp of Boulder Hwy and thumb a ride

The shortest ride you can get has to take you to at least Kingman AZ and that's 90 miles

Do the same thing at Kingman on the entrance ramp to I-40 E

[Personally if it were I , I would stop in one of the two truck stops in Kingman which are located on US 93 just before I-40 and ask people - not truckers- for rides to PHX and I would hang around long enough until I got one. In the long run this method will actually save you time]

And again if need be at the US 93 S exit

At the least you will wind up in Wickenburg

I would think that it would be fairly easy to get one or two rides all the way into PHX

providing that

You don't look like an escaped convict

You don't look like a road warrior

You don't look like a hooker

You have proper ID -cops may or may not bother you

You are not carrying drugs or weapons -see above

You look friendly -leave the sunglasses off

It's 8:00 AM in Vegas with a little luck you could be in PHX by 2:00 PM
