Okay so this one is a bit tricky to describe, however i'll try my best.
I just got a DS off eBay in very good condition, however when i went to play a game, when i turned it straight on, i noticed some problems.
The touchscreen randomly decides when to work, for example, on the startup screen when it asks me to click, that always works perfect. Yet even when i click 100 times on Pictochat or any other option there, it wont work. So i have to manually use A and B to get to it. Which is annoying as touch screen is the main DS feature. When it does get onto pictochat (or whatever it's called), it's still dead. Yet the bottom buttons (quit and accept i think) on the bottom of Settings still work.
When i first used it this morning i managed to get on pictochat, and drew some nice.. er.. pictures. But when i would write "hi", lines would be coming out the bottom of the letters going downwards, which was annoying.
My new super mario bros will randomly work too, it will always work when i get an item and click it to use it. But the main menu will not.
I've fully charged it, done the thing where i have to click on small squares, and cleaned the screen.
Any help will GREATLY be appreciated.
Update:Ive done the calibration thing.
Update 3:I dont understand how calibrating it works perfectly, i dont even have to make an effort for it to work. So the TS is fine.
But when it comes to doing something interesting that i want it to do, it wont.

you were ripped off on ebay
I had a problem very similar to this. My brother played my DS and I found that a tiny piece of a Fritto chip was stuck in under the side of the touch screen. Try cleaning it out by carefully sliding a tooth pick under the screen. It might be a little tricky and you need to be careful. If there is something down there, calibrating will need to be redone. Regardless, try to see if something small is stuck in the side of the screen and try re-calibrating it. If that does not work, you may have purchased a broken DS. In that case, confront the seller. Sorry if it is broken. The DS is a really fun system.
When you first turn on your DS, go to the options screen on the bottom where the little wrench thing is, An select the calibrate Touch screen option, or something like that, then click the little dots, hope that helps.
the guy sold it to u because it was flawed... u can tell ebay authorities but it wont really be good my dad bought a broken laptop battery so buy a new one and if u know a lawyer sue
Ok I don't know if this will help or if it is true but my brother's friend said that he got a free DS by sending in his broken one to Nintendo. So if you cant figure it out at all then try this. :)
