Hey everyone, I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant 4CYL with Auto transmission and my check engine light came on today and it's showing this code:
PO421 Warm up catalytic converter, efficiency below thresold (bank 1)
What does this mean? How much will it cost? and also, I need the car to go to work, is it safe to drive?
Thanks so much for your help!

bad catalytic converter and/or O2 sensor(s). a new catalytic converter is usually pretty expensive, O2 sensors not as expensive
i would take it to the muffler shop and have them remove the converter and put a regular muffler on it. Then you will not have to worry any more.
drive it not a big deal i c this alot andppl dont usualy fix for months not sure exactly how to explain it tho
worn or aftermarket cat. or o2 sensor heater failing
