I am looking into a rebuilt compressor. I was told by one auto part store that I don't need the receiver/drier for my model car. Is this true, or should I just purchase one when I buy the compressor?
Thanks!

Hello Maggie. If you are replacing the compressor due to leakage, and not failure, then you can get away without a new accumulator (receiver/drier). However, I would advise you to go ahead and replace the accumulator and orifice tube w/ the "new" compressor. You also will want to familiarize yourself with the compressor manufacturer's warranty. Some compressor rebuilder's require the replacement of the accumulator to keep the warranty valid. Peace.
