I have researched physics ansd metaphysics for 27 years so I may be able to help. Travel into the past is a complete imposssibilty - as intriguing as it sounds. Time has been defined as "an illusion created by motion". If there is no motion perceived in a given venue there is no time perceived there... it does not exist !

It is possible to travel forward in time however and this may be done crudely by going into a coma. One may travel for months into the future in this manner and when awakening the individual will have not expeerinced the passage of time..., it will seem like only a brief moment. Time then is a perception only and the time we do experience in mundane life is simply an agreed upon thing... a created and shared experience.

It is also possible to travel consciously into the future using the quantum-electronic technology which I propose in my book: 'A NEW FORM OF ENERGY; ITS DESCRIPTION; ITS GENERATION; AND ITS APPLICATIONS'. (Amazon).

Make passports for them and characteristic them fake they are happening a visit. Create stations around the room that are themed to a definite the place they might do diverse events (artwork, writing, spelling) regarding the region they're at. placed stickers on their passports whilst they finished a station. :)
