The secular and ecclesiastical ministers foregoing
the severity and force which has been used in other reductions, excessive labor in the fields, and other tasks which are demanded of them at the beginning of conversion, causes sufficient to exasperate the first generation and make them inculate in their children this feeling of exasperation.

The political and religious leaders of the area chose not to use harsh methods of conversion like forced work in fields with crops or being rude and demanding right off the bat. This would not bring people into the church there and instead would drive people away due to the harshness and pass this down to their children. So instead of making a group of people feel resent towards the church and the government that the Spanish has in place, they were kindlier. Basically they attracted more flies with honey than others did with vinegar.
The not spiritual and church like ministers went without the harshness and force which has been used in other declines, much work in the fields, other things which are asked by them at the start of conversion, causes much to upset the first generation and make them immunize their children this feeling of being upset.
