I think it depends mainly on how you are going to use it. If you plan to play with others at some point electric is great, but if you just plan to play solo and mainly in your room then acoustic might be a better option. Acoustic sounds better by itself to me. Electric is fun for jamming with friends or even at home jamming to an MP3. I prefer electric but I have both.

I like both, and have a lot of experience playing both. 12 string acoustics have a fantastic sound, but don't start learning on one of those.

Once again, it really depends on what you want to play yourself, but you should try get familiar with both.

Start learning on acoustic, and then if you feel like guitar is what you want to do, get an electric.

i like them both, it really depends on the vibe you want.

i love the mellow tropical tunes that an acoustic can produce, but i also have my metal moments aswell... i guess learn what you can with the one you prefer, and teach yourself in your own time the other. it should be all the same principles.

well it's really your choice. it depends what music you like. personally, i'm an alternative/punk/metal kind of girl. electric is my favorite to watch and play because its just a jolt of energy and it pumps adrenaline into you.
