There is a strong debate taking place right now on which site we should hold our annual fantasy football war. It is well documented that Yahoo! invented fantasy football along with e-mail, the online search engine and horoscopes so it automatically get points for originality. Not to persuade you but in the words of MC Hammer: yahoo fantasy football is 2 legit 2 quit. Some 'standing wipers' believe that espn is better because they are the self proclaimed worldwide leader in sports, have a crappy restaurant chain and produce amazing television such as the decision. So please put this argument to rest and let me know which platform is better - espn or YAHOO!

Why not play the league in both formats and decide for yourselves which suits you? I play on both ESPN and Yahoo every year. They're both good - it really isn't the platform that makes the difference when they both have good features and reliability, but the players in the league.
LOL...that was well said and clearly an objective viewpoint.
I'd say Yahoo has been much more competitive since the beginning of last season, but I still have to give it to ESPN. For one thing, there's no easy way to chat with other owners on Yahoo. With ESPN, you've got the boards, but more importantly, easy access to widgets and c-boxes. You can poll owners, etc. I run several leagues, and I truly hate the chat feature at yahoo. And I'm also a dork for the customizable league pages at ESPN. Also, the sortable stats at Yahoo are a bit odd. You don't get what you want from the pulldown without sorting them again.
Ooops, there is one negative on ESPN. The login feature is FUBAR and has been for years.
I personally use and like ESPN. It lets you pre-rank your players prior to draft day so you can look through YOUR rankings. It also is easy to use and you can customize all points, rules etc. I have never tried yahoo but I think ESPN is very good. If you are doing a league for the first time, I would go with ESPN.
I find that ESPN attracts a younger crowd. Yahoo tends to have a more mature audience. Over-all, I think I like ESPN's power & features better, but Yahoo scores alot of points with their "performance profile" - which allows to see the track record of people your thinking of inviting into your league.
they closed the restaurant chain, by the way.
i honestly prefer the interface over at ESPN. it's also integrated to their fantasy editorial staff (experts) for those who rely on their projections and predictions.
hey- what do i know? i was once a 'standing wiper'...
