Ahhh the fuel pump. The dread of fuel injected 3rd gens.
I don't think you need to "bleed" the lines. The fact that it attempted to idle indicates to me that it is getting at least some fuel. Any air pocket left from changing the filter has been purged.
There's a good possibility that having a clogged filter may have ruined your pump. The 3g's fuel pump is not exactly noted for it's reliability and it's a PITA to service. The exhaust has got to come off. I haven't figured out how to do it without dropping the exhaust yet.
since you changed the fuel filter then bleed the lines.
Don't worry about bleeding the lines...that's just an answer given just so the person can feel special for posting an answer.
Grab a fuel pressure gauge at your local parts store, I'd be anything that the fuel pump is toast like the other response said.
Have fun doing that one, lol. It's not that hard but we're talking about a 20 yr old car, those bolts to drop the exhaust and rear are going to be rusted and locked up.
