Most are used by scammers from Russia and Ukraine and it's a very lucrative business, one report last week showed how one scammer pocketed over $150,000.

By the time they have been traced they have gone and have dozens of other domains set up and ready to go and because of where they operate from it makes it that much harder to use any form of enforcement.

There are thousands of them and the criminals that sell this crap change them daily to avoid detection.

Most of the websites are hosted in China and Russia.

BTW, this Antivirus type crap auto-installs without your installing anything (like a phony codec or a phony update) by attacking unpatched vulnerabilities in Windows and all other installed software.

A computer that is fully patched and updated will usually survive the attack without infection.

I suggest the use of Secunia PSI to insure that all your software is kept always updated and patched against vulnerabilities that are often exploited to compromise computers. Very important.
