Long story short my heart got worse and I was forced to quit my job...etc. I even had to write to a couple of places telling them my situation and asked for a deferment or to have my monthly payment lowered.
After I sent a letter to a local loan company telling them my situation and that I have no property and absolutely nothing. I told them that currently I am even staying at a house my fiance is working on and that I do not even have a car!
On Friday I get a certified envelope with a letter from the loan company giving me two options, pay 100.00 a month or they are going to take my car. WHAT CAR??!!
In the envelope there were 4 pictures, three of the car I am driving (which belongs to my fiance) and one solely of the front door of my fiance's house. These were not images from Google street view, they were from several different angles and very high quality 8x10 pictures. The debt left to be paid is only 2,300.00!!!!!
Can they legally take pictures of my fiance's property and vehicle with out his knowledge? I do not own any of the property nor involved with anything to do with the house. My fiance had my name put on the car title for insurance purposes but it reads "Rich......"& "Kate......" so can they take the car?
I have NEVER heard of a loan company doing anything like this before. I feel threatened and wouldn't that be considered "stalking". Taking pictures of where people live and what they are driving with out their knowledge and then mailing the pictures to them?

While this is disturbing, it is unfortunately entirely legal. The only thing that is illegal is to enter your property to photograph it, or to record areas where you have a "reasonable expectation of privacy", which basically means "inside the house". If an area is visible from a public area, it is legal to record.
If they tried to take legal action against you, however, this probably wouldn't look so good for them, especially given that some of these photos seem designed more to intimidate than to prove anything relevant.
You could report this to the trade commission if you wanted, as there is the possibility it violates some sort of policy. If not, doesn't mater.
If your name is on the Title, yes they can petition for the sell of the car or put a lean on it.
Next if your name is on the title of the house, same thing applies.
But if you remove your name from both the car and house, there is nothing they can do about either one. Taking pictures of the car and house without any evidence as to who took the pictures, will not be proof they took it. Do you have to even pay the money back ? depends on the income you are getting. If your future husband is supporting you 100 percent, they can not do anything to him, until your name is on a marriage lic. Then they can go after him. Best suggestion to give will be file bankrupt. Chapter 7.
Your name is on the title, they probably can take the car because of that reason. I suggest you find a way to be insured but not on the title of the car. They can hire a P.I. to check up on you, to verify your assets. And when you are out in public, driving on a public road, or viewable from a public street, you have no expectation of privacy.
I'd get your name off of the title immediately. Work around it otherwise. Your name on the title means you share ownership.
If your name is on the title, they can come after it. Your best choice is either try to get your name off, or as someone else said, file bankruptcy. They would have to put a lean against the car before they could take it, if they didn't finance it.

sounds like they took it a bit too far to me.
