Hi, i'm currently in University second year and right now I'm debating between going for computer science major vs specialist. I'm interested in computer science but I don't feel like taking all my courses in comp sci and maybe sorta balance it out with another major like east asian studies. But I was wondering that if there is a big impact between finding jobs with a comp sci major degree vs a specialist degree. Thanks ^^
Update:Im from univ of toronto
And its possible to take double major. Just wandering whats the pros and cons of taking double major vs specialist in comp sci.

You don't indicate which university you're attending.
At some schools, it's possible to have a double major OR a minor with a major.
If you can major in computer science and minor in East Asian studies, you can obtain the type of balance you prefer.
Once you hit the job market, with just a bachelor's degree in hand, you'll basically be eligible for entry level positions. The business/company that hires you will train you so that you can perform the type of work it expects of you.
Both are hard majors, and many students wouldn't be able to complete either degree. As far as which one is harder; that depends on what classes you take in your major. Typically, computer science involves more math and program theory; however, some Information Technology involves the same amount. For example, a friend of mine majored in Computer Information Technology at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) and he took Calculus I, II, and III as well as physics classes. He took four (4) programming classes as well. Oh, and by the way, he did a B.A. not a B.S, but that's because he elected to take some of those classes for his free electives. With that said, an Information Technology degree is more practical. Some people with an out-dated way of thinking may argue otherwise, however, the truth is that Information Technology will better prepare you for the real world.
Hey, you asked a question several years ago about debating between a CS specialist or a double major and I'm in the same situation right now. Can I ask how it went?
