i recently paid to get the charge i had on my record expunged. it was just a mistake i made when i was like 18 and totally regret. so i got it expunged and now i want to apply for a job but when i look on the case search website the charges don't show up but it stills says im in the criminal system? will this go away? has anyone else ever had this problem... were you ever able to get a job again? i'm really worried that i am going to not be able to get a job for the rest of my life because of something stupid i did when i was 18 that wasn't really that bad. I am going to call the court on monday but i figured i'd ask here first to ease my mind a little bit.
thanks in advance!
Update:if thats the case... what should i put on a job application when it asks if ive ever been convicted of a crime? I am so screwed. I am going to school to be a doctor and im not ever going to be able to get a job just because i was a dumb teenager. now i feel like i wasted all this time and energy in school just so i can never be able to get a job and i'm going to end up being a loser and sitting in a dirty trailer somewhere collecting welfare..... new question- anyone know anyone with a time machine?

The record was expunged...that means it was sealed so that only court house employees can see it.
However, all that was hidden was the record of the conviction. The record of the arrest, the record of you being in jail or prison, the record that was recorded in the newspaper are all still out there forever.

the sole thank you to Expunge an person offender checklist is to have the courtroom of checklist deem the crime to no longer have got here approximately or obtain a pardon from the Governor or President. Get a criminal expert and attempt to get the courtroom to re open the case, if that fails write your Governor with a sturdy reason to sparkling your checklist, desiring the appropriate to vote seems to be a brilliant ingredient interior the element of pardons. Write a tear jerker with regards to the way you have replaced your techniques and desire to take part interior the democracy of your forefathers.....
If it was expunged then only the court house employees can see it.. but to be on the safe side I would call ( it may be better to stop by there in person) the courthouse and ask... they should be able tell you...
