I am 34 and I had hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) due to placenta previa. I have been reading about hyst and one article said that 2 years after the removal of the uterus, the ovaries will shut down. One article stated otherwise: That if the ovaries are still present after they hyst, the woman will enter the menopause phase naturally because of aging.
Anybody who can answer this?
Thanks!!!

Both articles have overstated their case. A hysterectomy interferes with the blood supply to the ovaries. In some cases this will cause ovarian failure within a few years. In other cases there is little impairment and it does not result in ovarian failure, though you will likely go through menopause a few years early. It's impossible to tell what will happen to you before the surgery.
