When i delete things n a cell in excel it instantly ask if i wnat to move rows /columns up, down, left or right. Usually to get that option i would have to click on the number of the row or colunm (whihc would make the entire row/column highlight) then right click, then click delete. I would like it back to the orginal way...which is when i click a cell a press delete..it will delete. Not ask if i want to move the rows/columns up, down..etc.

your actually trying to delete the cell rather than the contents of the cell.
Make sure your only clicking on the cell contents you want to delete and not the cell itself. Using Edit>delete will also try to delete the cell, unless you have the contects of the cell high-lighted.
Use the delete key rather than the right button context menu. Although "delete" and "delete" would logically do the same thing, this is a Microsoft product so logic goes out the window.
The delete button will delete the contents of the cell, but if you right click and choose delete it will try and delete the cell itself.
Try "clear contents" instead of delete
