The answer to this kind of depends on where the hotel is.
In the United States a "double room" usually means that it has 2 double sized beds, sleeping 4 people total.
In most other places a "double room" usually means it has 1 double sized bed, sleeping 2.
A Twin room usually has 2 twin beds
A triple room usually has 3 twin beds
and a family room usually has one double bed for the parents and 1 or 2 twin beds for the kids.
Your best bet is to contact the hotel directly to reconfirm what their terms mean and make sure you are getting what you need.
