go to the volume control settings bye double clicking the Speaker at the bottom right of you screen

Then go to options

go to properties

click recording

make shore that only the microphone box is checked in the recording section

then press ok and minimize the little box that comes up and in that box make shore that the select box is checked

THEN click the start button at the bottom left of your screen

Go to all programs

then go to accessories

then to Entertainment

and click sound recorder

and when the program comes up just hit the record button and sing or do what ever you want to do.
