when i power on the laptop, it starts to boot, but nothing appears on the screen. then, slowly, the screen becomes white. what is the problem? do i need to replace the screen?

try pressing fn+ f6 or fn+ f5...
try bending the screen when all else fails...
did that to my dad's laptop thats almost as old as i am...
