I just love this programme and hope they make another series soon. Can anyone tell me what the meaning of the words mma - is it just the equivalent of mrs? Also a man is called ra (sorry is mispelt) is that mr? Also they say something when greeting each other, which I presume is hello or good morning - what is it?

Yes, Mma and Rra are the equivalents of Mrs / Ma'am and Mr / Sir, ie respectful forms of address.
The other word you're looking for is 'Dumela', as in Dumela Mma. Since I don't speak Setswana I'm guessing, but I would think it the equivalent of 'Good day'.

Yeah, it's just Mr and Mrs. Why don't you read the books? They are by Alexander McCall Smith, and there is a series of 8 or something - the books are brilliant! The series is good too (which is rare when you've read the books, usually they just don't match up!) but the books are really something to write home about!
It is basically just a version of Mrs/Mr and a way of addressing people respectfully!
