i was thinking of buying a laptop, then when reading the specs i noticed it said the following,
Memory
* 4GB DDR2 667MHz
* Upgradeable to 4 GB using dual soDIMM modules
So what does that actually mean? how many GB does it actually have??

You will be buying 4GB DDR2 667MHz in two modules of 2 each. Because says its up to 4, you are buying already at the limit, meaning can't put more memory its at top.
SODIMM is faster memory so it is an upgrade. However most people won't notice the difference unless using movie editing software or similar
It has 4Gb Ram, this ram runs at 667 megahurtz, which is reasonable for a laptop, but you can get 800mhz which is much faster, it's Ram is upgradable so you can get more than 4Gb
This memory is ram not your hardrive, unless you are playing games or something it wont matter.
