Laptop Problems Please Help!?
My friend will turn off his laptop and go do stuff and when he wants to go get back on it wont turn on no lights or anything so please help and i will help you with anything!!
Update:it will not turn on even when we tried the power thing we have not tried the mother board so thanks in advance and im sorry about more detail i am new to yahoo answers so i don't no how to respond to a persons question

It's probably settings as to which components are turned when idle. If he is trying to turn it on via hard boot. I would need more info. Turning it off and then if nothing turns on when hard booting - could mean there could a heat problem somewhere.
If you hear a fan running but nothing on the screen, try to use the external video port and see if you are able to use an external monitor. If you able to do this, then it is your LCD.
If you hear nothing at all: check the battery life, run diagnostics, etc. the next time it is able to boot. Based on your description, it boots inconsistently and probably when it is cooler.

If you leave the battery out and just plug it in are the results the same?
If you pull the battery and unplug it, hold the power button down for 5 seconds and turn it back on (either with battery or power cable) does it boot up?
Most likely, if there is no difference just battery or plugged in with no battery in it, it's the motherboard.
