I can't decide between the two! I'm getting one mostly for school. I do a LOT of long essays, and I can't keep borrowing my family's computers all the time. So I'll need it mostly for writing, but also for basic internet stuff (Facebook, email, etc), editing photos (lots of photos), and I have a fairly large iTunes library. I'm just having a hard time choosing because while I love the super portable Air model, I'm afraid I'd run out of storage. Suggestions?
Update:Don't really want a PC, wanted to give Apple a go because I've been using PC all my life.

I would suggest you buying Macbook Pro a larger hard drive and a DVD-burning optical drive are the larger Pro's advantages, along with an HD Webcam. Port-wise, the Pro adds a FireWire port and an Ethernet jack.
You would be better off taking the $1500 - 2000 and throwing it in the Ocean. Seriously, for the things you want to do, you could take $600 dollars and get a really nice PC.
Macbook air is definitely great for carrying out. The only downside is that the HDD(SSD) is too small. But you can get a mobile HDD as an supplement.
Get the Pro. They're equally as portable, your arm isn't going to fall off because your computer is bigger than a vanilla folder. Also solid state drives aren't as reliable as a hard drive.
based on your needs i dont see why you need a macbook just get a decent computer with Windows 7 not 8 enjoy your text work, photo editing and browsing on it
Get a Samsung, boyee!
