I have been posting about laptops nonsensically. I had narrowed it down to an Ibook g4 or a powerbook g4. But people have steared me to going for the "newer" mac models. But i don't want them! The pro is way out of my budget, im a kid, i can't afford a 2,000 laptop at the moment without a job! This is starting to confuse me. I need help! the powerbook g4 or macbook g5. Please give me a detailed answer, with pros and cons for each!

Get the MacBook, the PowerBook is outdated and uses the older PowerPC processor, rather than the Intel processors found in the new MacBooks.
I would at leat get the Macbook at the 1299.00 price (2nd to the bottom as far as price is concerned for laptops). It has a dvd burner while the lowest price only has a dvd rom/cd writer. It also has twice the amount of shared cache (4MB vs. 2MB) as the lowest macbook.
This (in my opinion) would be the lowest I would go right now if I was going to buy a mac. The powerbook has a powerpc processor (won't run boot camp, etc.), while the mac book has an intel processor.
Check out the apple website for more info on specs.
There's no such thing as a Macbook G5. The G5 PPC processor gets too hot and there was no way that they could install a fan big enough to cool down a notebook, thus the switch to Intel processors.
If you're going to the Apple store, they no longer have PowerBooks so your choice is likely the Macbook. Most likely you're going to want the lower end 13-inch Macbook, 1.83 GHz for $1,099.00
incredibly, basically finding at ability and value, MacBook professional comes out on suited by using far. Order: a million. MacBook professional 2. MacBook Air 3. MacBook White pass with between the those 3 techniques... they may well be extra high priced, yet i latterly did a post on Mac vs. homestead windows vs. Linux and that i defined the experts and cons of each. desire this helps ~Nick
