I think drag racing fans are mostly people that have mechanical abilities rather than couch potatoes. Most of us have competed ourselves. Not so for Nascar fans! It is a LOT easier to go drag racing. But, we are also outnumbered online.
No way! Drag Racing just doesn't get the type of coverage other sports do... its not the lack of fan base because trust me theres enough... its just the NHRA and other venues won't step up an buy good tv slots i.e. 1:00 in the morning shows... Drag racing is often frowned upon because many people link it with street racing and the news and media picks out all the bad instead of showing the good... drag racing is an awesome sport and trust me you definitely can't be lacking of money to do it or now a days even watch... but I would never give it up for the world...

There was a guy on here a few months ago who asked Yahoo to add an NHRA section. They told him if there were more drag racing questions they would add it. He spent like 2 months asking questions every day. I answered some of them but few others did so he gave up.

Hey, Blown Camaro...
How did you get that name?
Hope it's not fer real?
But your answer is probably right on,
Most of those I know that follow NHRA have or are racers themselves.
Don't spend all that much time in here.
I used to run a low 12 sec '68 Firebird 400.
12" modified locker rear,
350 heavily modified tranny
NOt tubbed, and kept it just over 12 secs so i wouldn't have to cut up the interior.
I didn't start reading and following the 'net till the past couple years, and don't race anymore.
still don't do it that much, too much time, too many other hobbies.
Ran outta time n money.
Lotta fun for years tho.
