I have a Canon EOS Rebel T2i, and I adore it. But it's too big to carry around with me everywhere. I have a compact camera from Canon as well, but the quality just isn't as satisfying as my T2i. I think Canon makes great cameras, and it's really the only camera company I've been comfortable with.
I'm interested in either the Pentax Q, Olympus PEN E-P3, or the Nikon J1. Which one is the best in terms of picture AND video quality? Should I get one of these cameras, or wait and see if Canon releases a mirrorless camera?
Thank you!

I too don't like EVILS and think they will one day kill the DSLRs we use today. I would not suggest either the Pentax Q or Nikon J1. That is because they are basically point and shoots like the one you already have except you have to put expensive lenses on it. The Olympus is a much better camera it is very close to a DSLRS like the one you have, it still has a somewhat large sensor and will give you reasonably good image quality like the t2i you have now.
I don't think Canon is going to release any Mirrorless Camera any time soon, as the technology doesn't seem to be worth the money, yet. If you really have to get one, I'd also recommend the Olympus. I read a review of the Nikon J1, but it didn't convince me much.
Nikon J1 is a great little camera, but you do need to read parts of the manual. If you are someone who likes to capture the moment, this camera is very good in bright light. The colors (white balance) is very good, and in bright light the camera will focus more quickly than most cameras out there. This is great camera for someone (example, my wife) who likes to just shoot and not worry too much about all the photographic technical mumbo jumbo.
With these cameras there is a compromise between size and quality. The Pentax Q is much smaller
and this shows in the image quality performance according the the lab test comparisons with the J1 and EP3 in this article.

The difference is mainly in low light performance.
but it is much smaller, so the question is how much is convenience a factor for you.
I doubt that you will be happy with the quality of the little Pentax Q. Although it provides some opportunity to use wide aperture prime optics on a small sensor, it can't escape being a small sensor.

The Olympus seems to have a slight advantage in the quality of still images, but the Nikon seems to have a little bit better video capability.

Olympus likes to use in body image stabilization. That simplifies their lens designs. However, the effectiveness of IBIS tends to be below optical image stabilization, especially at longer focal lengths.
Seen here, the Nikon holds up well against the Olympus for noise, although the Nikon may have a little more desaturation at high ISO:

Comparing these two test images, the Nikon does well for image detail, but it seems to show some susceptibility to moire on the Transamerica building.

Some of the Sonys have shown impressive results for image quality, but their lenses add significantly more bulk.
I'm not a fan of EVIL cameras at all. To me they're over rated, glorified and way, way over priced point and shoot pocket toys that happen to change lenses and to top that off they don't have a view finder - how dumb is that.
But hey, it's your money. I certainly don't recommend EVIL. I'm a Canon guy as well and so far at least it's gratifying to me that Canon hasn't fallen into the EVIL trap.
Good luck.
