progesterone levels too low?
I had a progesterone test at 5dpo and it was 9.0. I ovulated later than the doctor thought I would. Should I go back at 7dpo or later?

That is a bit on the lower side (like to see 10 or higher). If you suspect pregnancy, then perhaps have it tested again to ensure no progesterone issues.
Otherwise, don't worry about it. That level already confirms that you are in your luteal phase (post ovulation). It doesn't mean that you ovulated this cycle, but there is a good chance that you did.
