I have an Electrolux canister vacuum, purchased in 1992. I love it! The only problem is that the motor has gone out (minor issue-LOL!). I know of someone who has an antient beast (model XXX, or 30) that they are willing to give me. The only challenge may be the power requirements. I know that the older model has somewhere between 450-600 amps and the newer model around 900. Could this work, and if so could it be a fire hazard? By the way, I know NOTHING about vacuums and VERY little about electrical "stuff"--just trying to save a dime :) Thx!
