OK i will do the best i can to describe what i want to ask. I am painting my house and i want to look at some pictures and ideas online, however i do not know what to search. My problem is, if i type "interior design purple bathroom" or "organizing a closet" the pictures that come up do not even compare to my house. This goes with everything really, whenever i look up pictures they are of fancy, amazing, new houses and stuff. Where can i see pictures of an average 23 year old girl's house, or any average family who is doing the work themselves. I am not a professional, so of course you will be able to tell a difference between my remodeling job and a professionals. I want pictures and ideas of houses and restaurants that a lower or middle class person would have. I hope you understand what i mean! The reason behind this is because things that look good in a huge house done by a professional may not look good if i were to do them by myself, ya know? Thanks!

I would try searching budget decorating blogs or budget painting blogs, and maybe include the DIY part. I find blogs to be much more thrift-oriented and just as creative. Good luck!
You might not live in the size of house all those people in the shows and magazines do, or have the budget they have, but you can use many of the same principles on a more modest scale. Such things as lighter colours and less clutter making a place seem larger, for instance, or making sure your furniture is the right size for the place it's going, or using mirrors to increase the apparent size of a house, those things apply to any house. You might want to get much more specific with your search terms. Use "cottage remodel" or "small home remodel", "small home organization", or look at sites selling cabins, tiny homes, and mobile homes to get decorating ideas for smaller places.
If you have cable TV, several of the programs on the DIY and HGTV channels involve real-life renovations of small to medium middle class houses. My favorites are "Property Brothers", "Love it or List It", "Rehab Addict" and "Income Property". On all of these shows they are mostly dealing with older homes with smaller rooms and the ideas that they use for them can be quite impressive.

Also look at bookstores for design and remodeling books that are specifically for smaller homes and smaller rooms -- there are a lot out there now. The British designer Terence Conran has written a lot of books with photos of real homes and smaller spaces with interesting and practical designs. You can get some of them on line or at bookstores. I've found a lot of great ideas from his books that I have been able to use in my houses (which have all been small, working class older homes).
Use the pictures for inspiration, not as a standard that you must achieve.
You can see how professionals work and what products, colors and styles work together,it's alot less expensive than trial and error.
Pick out the things you like from different pictures and get the look you want.
I really like the Houzz website.
To answer your question, the average 23 year old is either living with her parents or living in an apartment.Check out the for rent ads for affordable apartments in your area, they usually have pictures showing rooms, including bathroom.
Maybe add terms to your search like "diy" (do it yourself) or "on a budget"? Search magazine articles from publications and show you like to weed out the expensive stuff - Better Homes and Gardens, Southern Living, HGTV and the DIY Network.
Try going on to Google Images and type in DIY closet design ideas (or DIY whatever you want to see).
