Why Does My Baby Cantaloupe Look Like A Cucumber Inside?
I have very young cantaloupe growing in my garden and they are green and round shaped. I cut one open and it looked like a cucumber inside. Anyone know why?
Cantaloupes and cucumbers are distantly related. In fact, I seem to remember hearing about how cucumbers and melons of any sort shouldn't be planted close together because they will cross-pollinate- and the fruit will not be that good.

It is not ripe, that is the way a cantaloupe looks when it isn't ripe. Given time, it will turn orange on the inside and the seeds will form cavity's.
There was some hanky panky going on in that melon patch of yours.
