Windows 7 problem 0xc00000e9?

I started my computer up last morning to find that I'm prompted to the message " disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter". I restarted my pc a few times, and somehow I got it to work. When I turned my pc off, and turned it back on this morning, same message appeared only I was unsucessful I'm getting rid if it the old way. So I did what it told me, and inserted my windows 7 installation cd. It loaded up and brought me to a new error screen that read: " windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer file:\boot\bcd status: 0xc00000e9 info: an unexpected I/O error has occured". I searched online for answers, but I either get lost in the complicated explanations or do what is told, to no prevail. So far I've checked all the cables connected to the harddrive, and set hdd to by first hdd boot device. What causes this error, and What else can I do? Please help
