1. Y! Yahoo email (classic) loses *all* Yim messages.
Y! Yahoo email (classic) loads Yim (Yahoo Instant messaging) on the webpage.
Then *loses* all of your messages.
2. There is no archive option (through the email client/webpage)
3. The stand-alone YIM client can archive messages.
4. But copies never reach BOTH the email webpage -&- yim.
5. If you open an email in another tab/window, the webpage-yim freaks out, signs you out of the webpage-yim & kills off all your yim message windows.
6. Total junk & irresponsibly written code, signed off by further *heads whose aforementioned heads should roll.

<The web based messenger tool integrated in Yahoo mail doesn't have an archive feature like the regular Yahoo messenger. If you want to save a chat, you have to convert it to an email when the conversation ends and send it to yourself. Otherwise, once you close the tab, the chat is gone for good.> Similar statements have been posted on the Yahoo mail pages for a long time already, so it's no matter of losing the messages, but rather of not reading the tutorials and thus not knowing how to handle the situation.

<When Yahoo detects that you’ve already signed into Yahoo Mail, it will disconnect you when you try to sign into messenger or vice versa - hence the message that you are signed in to another computer. To get rid of possible problems simply disable chat in your mail (!) account by clicking the smiley and following the prompts. Yahoo remembers your settings until you change them.> That has also been posted on the help pages since a long time in a longer version, I just shortened it to let users know what a possible problem may be and have posted it repeatedly - again a matter of not reading everything which needs to be read???

Look, I don't know everything, but when a user reports a problem, I start digging until I find what's going on to help him and others too. Other YA Oldtimers do the very same...
