the driver side back door is hard to open and the trunk door is hard to open, actually, I can't open it at all...my dad opened it one time but it was still hard to open...what can this be?

don't know about back door but lift gate we had the same problem on our 95 we had to almost kick the gate open then we took plastic off and took out latch took that apart which we had to drill rivets out. we couldn't find any on junked jeeps and we were not spending 100 bucks for a new one but the problem was there is a small spring in there pushes latch back when you lift handle but spring fell out of place and was not letting the latch to open this is most likely your problem
