I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt - 2.4L - Manual Transmission and have 98k miles on the car.
I have had 2 trouble codes coming up while I have been driving. I have cleared them and they keep coming up.
P0013 - "B" Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 1)
&
P0014 - "B" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1)
Currently the only problem that I have had while running the car is while accelerating medium to hard pressure, there is a sputtering/rattling on the passenger side of the car. This only happens from about 2000 - 3000 RPM's then calms after reaching over 3000 RPM's.
I have changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, oil, and filled the car with premium gasoline for its 100k tune up.
I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on what this could be, or tips on diagnosing this. I think this may be a timing problem. I may just be taking it to the mechanic, but would like to try and fix this myself. Tips are much appreciated!
Update:For Code P0013 seems like this could be the "Engine Variable Timing Solenoid" I will check it.
No idea where to start on P0014. Thank you for the link, it was very helpful!

P0013 = actuator solenoid? You'll need to test it with an ohmmeter (see link below)
The rattling from the passenger side is usually the brake pads. The rotors and pads on these cars are pretty poor. The struts are also extremely poor and probably in very bad shape (most leak before 25000 miles, fail shortly thereafter). They will increase tire wear and damage the suspension components.
Does anyone know how to turn off the "service airbag" light that comes on from time to time. I seen how the guy that changed my oil reset my oil back to 100% & the light shut off. HE did a series of turn off key, then turn to accessory, then pumped brakes a few times then shut off. Then started car up and the change oil light was gone and back to 100%.
Can anyone tell me how to turn off the "service airbag" indicator light? OR direct me to a site tha will be able to tell me
