Okay so I just bought a 29 gallon long, it's a weird tank cause usually 29's are taller, but this has alot of ground space do I thought cichlids would be good.
I have nothing in it currently, it's been cycling for about a week with an old filter + a new one, and half of the water is from other tanks, also I put some old decorations to help speed up the process.
I was looking at getting two pairs of Central American cichlids, along with maybe some larger schooling fish like silver dollars or Columbian tetra.
I would give alot of cover and territory to have because I know there will be aggression.
I was thinking something like a pair of elliots firemouths and a pair if sajicas if I could find them, and like 12 Columbian tetra, along with some bottom feeder like some larger corydoras.
I have mbuna and a tropical planted with dwarf south Americans tank so id like to try something new with Central Americans, or even some larger South Americans, like 6 cupid cichlids for example. If anyone could give me some suggestions it would be great! All info is considered so throw it at me!

You can't keep tetras with the aggressive fish you are mentioning. Also keeping corydoras with aggressive fish could be a problem.
You do not need to overstock your tank it is not a big one.
I would recommend a pair of firemouths and Corydoras might work. But no other tank mates. Firemouths can reach 7-8 inches which is pushing the 29gal.
The pair of sajicas would be better for your tank size with some corydoras and gaint danios which are to fast to be picked on by the sajicas.
No silver dollars either they will grow to 6inchs which is to big of a school for your tank
Remember fish get bigger than the size at the pet store do not over crowd your tank
