A contraceptive question?
My bf and I no longer want to use condoms (i hate them) or oral contraceptives (I put on weight). What are the other alternative contraceptives that we can use?
We do not want to get pregnant and want to take NO chances.
How effective is that spermicidal pills that have to be inserted in the lady before love making? Any side effects?
Update:We dont want to go through a medical procedure like inserting IUD.
Want to know from actual users how good spermicides are...?

Spermicides are not very effective.
"Of 100 women who use contraceptive foam, cream, jelly, film, or suppositories, 29 will become pregnant during the first year of typical use. Fifteen will become pregnant with perfect use. Using a condom increases effectiveness."
If you are not on birth control or using a condom, you are taking the chance of getting pregnant, there's no way around it. Nothing else is as efficient.
Assuming you're a girl, try wearing the female condoms or get a IUD installed. Or use a diaphragm. Why do you hate condoms? Maybe you're allegic to latex? If so, they make condoms out of other materials. Or you might want to try anal sex. Good luck not getting pregnant.
Try an IUD they are good for 5 years and they have a ten year one also, and they can be removed at anytime if you change your mind.
