I had Maplestory installed on my computer a while ago. I played it for a bit and then stopped. A couple of days ago, I wanted to play it again, but it turns out you can only be 2 patches behind unless you wanna re download it. So i downloaded it again, and tried to uninstall the previous one. It uninstalled, but it stayed there. It just says "Maplestory" but has no file size or version info. No matter what I do, It's not going away. This is also preventing me from installing the newer version. Any help would be appreciated.
Update:I did delete the folder left behind, but the folder was in my C: directory, not program files.

When you uninstalled the program, did you go into the programs directory and get rid of the folder it left behind? Installing software will create a directory and knows what it put in the directory, but beyond that it does not know any other filed that have been created later on (configuration and data files that don't get removed). These remaing files interfer with a new Install of the same program. Not very many people even know this, it's not common knowledge.
