every time i plug my charger in it just blinks. it doesn't charge my battery though. and nothing in the manual describes this situation. also i have asked several people and they seemed puzzled as well. since i can't charge the battery i can't turn on the computer. i bought a new battery and my computer turned on and worked but since it couldn't be charged it cut off. i don't want to get it checked out because it costs too much and i could just get another computer for the prices that people are charging just to look at it. i got a new charger and it still blinks! any help will be greatly appreciated.
p.s. it's a Toshiba satellite series if that helps!

the motherboard is faulty, it is accepting charge and diverting it to the system or the battery as necesary
either take it to a shop for diagnostics (which would cost £60 at most less than a new computer) if it is the motherboard at fault then buy a new computer, if not they may be able to fix it for much less than a new computer
Sounds like a power jack on the motherboard is loose or shorted. Getting it fixed is all but an impossibility, because most shops won't solder on a motherboard because of the ease of shorting it out while doing so
had the same problem with a Thinkpad turned out to be the onboard charger and IBM had to replace this - i hope its just your charger that has the problem, especially if the laptop is not in warranty
Try replacing the battery or the cable.
