Ac compreser question?
On my jeep my ac wasn't blowing any cold air so I went to try and use that ac pro well the ac compreser wasn't spinni g so I added some and it started to try and spin now I was wondering if it was no good or if there was any thig that would keep it from spinning which is what I really hope it

The compressor will not turn on if the freon pressure is too low. That's a safety device to prevent you from burning out your compressor.
If the pressure is high enough to start the compressor but it quickly shuts back off then a few seconds later on again then the pressure is still too low. My neighbor had that exact situation. We put a little more freon in the system and it works fine. However we don't yet know how long it will take for the freon to leak out. Since we did this last week and if it's out of freon this week then he has a pretty big leak. So you might want to have a professional shop check it for leaks. Also, if it had a leak it's likely you will need to have the system completely vacuumed out and remove all residual air so you can replace it with freon. Your AC will work great after that (assuming any and all leaks have been fixed).

If it was trying to spin, as in it was not but TRYING, then it could be a bad pump or clutch. Low freon will cause it to start then stop. because when it starts, its pulling to much freon from the system that dose not have enough. Good Luck.
