I have a (mosfet) Kenwood KDC-7203 rated 1000W MAX. It is currently pushing (2) 12" Kenwood DualVoiceCoil subwoofers. Subs are rated 1500W MAX, and about 650W RMS.
Well... I was wondering why my amplifier keeps blowing the 40A fuse it holds when I turn the bass up pretty high?
...also, the bass isn't as loud as I think it should be. I tested my subs on my friends CRUNCH 600W amp, and it sounded WAAAY better than mine.
Update:Well, I have them wired up to their seperate channels because if I bridge them, it blows my fuse like 3x as fast...
The amp has a switch for either Mono or Stereo, right now I have it on LPF and MONO ...
Not sure what the impedance it handles.

First of all, your amp is rated at 250rms x 2 at 2ohms, so the subs can get way louder, the fuse keeps blowing because you are trying to push the amp to hard!! I had the same problem with my kenwood kac-9103D, I say get a new amp, either mono amp with at least 1300w rms x 1 or a 2 channel with at least 650w rms x 2, find one one crutchfield and then check millionbuy.com, there alot cheaper!!!! Also if you need help wiring check out crutchfield.com!!!
it sounds like you might have the subs wired up wrong that amp is 4 ohm mono or 2 ohm stereo stable depending on which crunch amp your friend has some are 1 ohm stable.what model subs do you have dual 2 or dual 4 and how do you have them wired to the amp?
What is the impedance of your speakers, 4, 8, 16, or 32-ohm? Also, how much power are you amplifying? If you're amp-ing too much power you will blow the circuits, as well. By the way, have you ever heard about hearing loss?
the first thing i would check is if the radio is the problem run a hot wire directly to your remote connection if that doesn't work make sure that you have good connections on your power and ground wires and that the wire is not to small for the amp (had a truck the amp would quit then start back but always had power it turned out to be a bad positive connection on the battery it would never completely loose power b/c the alt.)
well how do you have the subs wired to your amp? is it in mono mode and how many ohms does your amp handle?
