I think my company may try to get out of it, I've done a little bit of research but nowhere seems to have the exact details of this new law, who it affects and how. I am a full time shift worker, I work bank holidays if I am on the rota to. They are treated like any other day but we do recieve 1.5 days pay if we work one. Equally, being a shift worker, my hours per week vary and I am currently on the minimum 20 days holiday. I have heard rumours that my co-workers and I will not recieve these benefits of extra holiday because of various reasons that aren't set in stone. Is there anyone legally minded that can sort out the jargon for me, tell me what is exact about this law and also what I am entitled to regarding my situation. What is my company obliged to provide me with?

The FAQ on the entitlement should help you figure out how the increased benefit applies to your specific work schedule, specifically questions 1 through 8: http://www.dti.gov.uk/employment/holidays/faq/inde...
The first answer is the best one you will get.
The whole idea is to benefit people in your situation to ensure that they now get 24 days minimum, even if that includes some bank holidays.
